NOW MAY WE HAVE A REAL REVOLUTION?

FULTON'S COMMENTARY ON THIS ARTICLE:

Falsehoods are the stock-in-trade of statists.  These deceptions become especially deadly when statists manage to bamboozle most by calling a given economy a free market when, in fact, it is not a free market at all.

Grave consequences can, and will, flow from such trickery.   Consider the grim state of affairs in Russia.  After the collapse of the Soviet Union, it was widely proclaimed in the media that Russia had established a free-market economy when, in fact, they had established nothing of the kind.  What Russia has today, and has had since the fall of the Soviet Union, is a heavily regulated economy, geared to favor the few.  Russia has an oligarchy, not a free economy--yet their current troubles are now being blamed on freedom.

The same phenomenon is occurring in New Zealand--and in America: freedom gets blamed for the troubles created by statist regulations and mandates.

Lindsay Perigo's editorial eloquently describes the deceptive process by which freedom is made the scapegoat for the problems created by statists.  His commentary is both a heart-rending account of statists' success in smearing freedom's name and a stirring, moving call for each of us to rally around the cause of reason and freedom.  If we answer that call, we will win the fight for freedom.
