Here is a partial list of legislation regarding the Internet pending in Congress:
Require all schools and libraries to install filtering software to prevent entry to certain web sites. S 1619
Prohibit gambling on the Internet. S 474
Require Internet Service Providers to provide, at cost or free of charge, filtering software to their customers. HR 1180
Prohibit the sale of ammunition over the Internet. HR 4114
Prohibit the sale of tobacco or alcoholic products, via the Internet, to anyone under the age of 18. HR 2017
Prohibit the distribution of material that is harmful to minors. S 1482
Prohibit the sale of information about children without their parents permission. HR 1972
Require adult access codes for entry into certain sites. HR 3783
